I heard this about a billion times six months back when someone seemed to be trying to make it a big hit, but couldn't remember a single moment of the song. Having just listened to it, it's still not overly special and her voice does bug me, but there are decent aspects to it.

Oh I was certainly skeptical of this. It takes a lot of convincing for me to believe that this song by someone I'd never heard of really is among the best of the year. To an extent, I still don't see it, but after much persistence I grew to love it. Just about every component of the song is a hook but (or possibly because of this) the song still lacks a proper chorus hook. That doesn't matter though, because dun dun DUN dun, dun dun DUN dun, dun dun DUN dun; the whole thing just wins me over.

My 60th favourite song of 2012.
