Gut hörbares Album wenn man sich bewusst macht, dass man ausser perfekt produziertem Pop für die breite Masse keinen weiteren Tiefgang erwarten darf. Favoriten: 1. Marry You 2. Count On Me 3. Just The Way You Are 4. Runaway Baby 5. Talking To The Moon
Abwechslungsreiches Album, aber insgesamt dennoch nur mittelmässig gut. Neben "Grenade", "Just the way you are" und "Marry you" überzeugen die restlichen Songs nicht wirklich.
Das Album ist auf keinen fall schlecht. Hab mir aber nach Singles wie Grenade und Just the Way you Are mehr erwartet.

Succesalbum van Bruno Mars, uitgebracht in het jaar 2010. Niet echt baanbrekend werk, maar zeker ook niet slecht te noemen. Alle nummers verdienen een score die schommelt tussen 3 en 4+. Totaalscore album: 4

Ein wirklich gutes, gelungenes Album. Zwischen guter Laune, Reggae, Pop und Gefühl wird hier so ziemlich alles dargeboten. Sogar Power (Runaway baby). Nicht nur für mich eines der Album-Highlights des Jahres: #10 der österreichischen Jahreswertung.
A brilliant album, every one of the singles were great, the highlights of the album were "Talking To The Moon", "Grenade", "Just The Way You Are", "The Other Side", and "Count On Me"

This is a really great album, despite the majority of the great songs coming from the earlier released EP.
The only tracks that really let the album done are the snoozefest 'Our First Time' and the less-than-amazing 'Liquor Store Blues'. The album boasts four major hit singles which were overplayed to death, but there are still the hidden gems such as the beautiful ballad 'Talking to the Moon' and fantastic muso-fest 'The Other Side' featuring Cee-Lo & B.o.B. Furthermore, 'Somewhere in Brooklyn' should have been included on the main tracklist.
Er ist recht sympathisch, stört mich auch nicht, seine Musik ist zwar langweilig und mehr schlecht als recht, aber nicht nervig. Einiges kann sich auch hören lassen, z.B. gefällt mir "Grenade".
I'd be happy to join bluezombie. Grenade and JTWYA are the 'stand-outs', if that's what you want to call them. But overall, a tedious album from an essentially over-rated artist.
Bruno has fast become one of my most hated artists, mostly due to the overexposure he's had in the past twelve months, and how over-rated he is. I find most of his songs exceedingly dull or very average, and his vocals are often the same. That's the problem I have with this album. Marry You is a very catchy and fun highlight, and a genuinely good song from him, but it's the only one. If I had to pick other faves, I'd probably plump for Grenade or Runaway Baby, but they're not standouts. I'll just continue to live in my very lonely corner and futilely hope that he disappears from the music scene very soon.
Super langweilige Disc voller banalen Texten, x-fach dagewesenen Arrangements und einer schrecklich anstrengenden Stimme. Die Chartspositionen sind m.E. NICHT im Geringsten gerechtfertigt! Wenn overrated ein Stichwort ist, dann hier. Weak!
Après avoir été découvert en collaborant avec B.O.B. sur Nothin' On You et Travie McCoy sur Billionaire, Bruno Mars à la voix d'ange présente son premier opus baptisé "Doo-Wops & Hooligans". Sortie le 4 octobre dans le monde, il est (enfin !) sorti en janvier en France. L'album s'ouvre sur les deux premières pistes que tout le monde connait et qui furent chacune un véritable tube. Je parle bien sur de "Grenade" et "Just The Way You Are". C'est après qu'on découvre (réellement) l'album. Ce petit bijou est constitué de chansons pop-rock (Runaway Baby), de ballades ou chansons douces (Our First Time, Count On Me, Talking To The Moon) et de chansons plus pop qui ont l'étoffe de hit telles que Liquor Store Blues, The Other Side (qui fut le single annonciateur de son EP) ou encore The Lazy Song (Troisième single de l'album). Au final, cet album est un trésor. Chaque chanson a une particularité, un petit plus qui la différencie du reste de l'album. Tout cela fusionné à la voix douce et puissante de Bruno Mars, le résultat est étonamment réussi. C'est un album à écouter sans modération et qui est un véritable délice pour les oreilles. Die großen Songs des Albums bilden eindeutig den Rahmen des Albums, während im Mittelteil durchaus auch mal etwas Langeweile aufkommen kann. Große Rohrkrepierer liefert Bruno Mars in seinem Erstling nicht ab und er schafft eine große musikalische Bandbreite, aber nicht alle Songs sind wirklich hitverdächtig. Mit nur zehn Songs ist das Originalalbum quantitativ aber relativ dürftig ausgefallen, wenn einen dann auch nur vier Songs so wirklich richtig gut gefallen, fällt die Wertung etwas gemäßigt aus.
Leider nur eine gute 4, nach Punkten habe ich 6,725/10 als Durchschnitt herausbekommen.
4-5 - ganz ehrlich, ich hätte mir viel mehr erwartet von unserem kleinen Bruno. - Er hat soviele tolle Songs geschrieben, aber bei den eigenen harzt es ein wenig.

Bruno Mars wird 2011 einschlagen wie eine Bombe! In den USA, Australien und Neuseeland schon längt ein Star, ist er hier hauptsächlich erst durch "Just The Way You Are" bekannt.
Sein Debut-Album "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" bietet schöne Pop-Songs, sehr stark gesungen von Bruno Mars. Das ganze wird mit Reggae- und Rock-Klängen noch abgeschliffen. Also ein sicherer Kandidat für die vorderen Charts-Plätzen. Jedoch ohne grosse Überraschung!

I AM VERY IMPRESSED! I really hope this has staying power because this album deserves far more exposure! Solid vocals and a good mix of ballads medium and uptempo tracks! Once again, this is great
I have to say that the songs on the EP were of a higher standard than the newer songs on the album. But that's not to take anything away from them, as they still are pretty good overall.
ein gutes album. hat ein paar sehr starke tracks und leider ein paar "füller" (wobei es ohnehin sehr kurz ist - nur 35 min). schon komisch, im herbst bereits erschienen, auch in der schweiz, aber nie in den charts. und jetzt erscheints nochmals und landet prompt auf platz 1... die schweizer sind definitiv komisch :) Laatst gewijzigd: 26.01.2011 21:15
Surprisingly great album! The highlights are Just the Way You Are, Grenade, and the 3 songs from the original EP. The others aren't as good, but still are great tracks. A very solid album.
