gibt's dann doch leichte Abstriche von mir, vor allem was den Spannungsgehalt des Gesangs angeht.... Gute 4. | |
Es ist der letzte Song des 'There's One In Every Crowd'-Albums aus dem Jahr 1975. 'Opposites' beginnt zwar leicht einlullend, Eric singt brav: Night after day, day after night. White after black, black after white. Fight after peace, peace after fight. Life after death, death after life. Nun ja, habe schon bessere Texte gehört. Aber nach gut der Hälfte des Songs verstummt Eric und läßt nur noch seine Gitarre sprechen und wie, zart, gefühlvoll, zerbrechlich. Die Melodie ist so schön, daß einem sich die Nackenhaare (wenn man welche hat) aufrichten. Und spätestens wenn der letzte Ton verstummt ist wissen wir alle, 'Clapton Is God', zumindest Gitarrengott.
